Indy cant die though can he.
Even a nuke wouldn't kill him, might destroy his body but...dunno regenerate wolverine style?
I mean he drank from the Holly Grail in his previous movie and according to wiki :"...The knight informs them that, if they wish for the Grail, they must choose wisely for it, for while drinking from the true Grail will bring them everlasting life, a false Grail will take it from them."
Thats what i gathered from the movie and general lore knowledge concerning the Grail hence, Indy and his dad are pretty much immortal.

Some of my favorite movies of all times are: Blade Runner and The Sound of Music.
Recent ones that I really enjoyed: The Transformers. The scene with the transformed cell phone pew-pew-pew still makes me laugh just thinking about it
Loved:
The 300
Gladiator
X Men
............. and more but I can't think of titles atm

Then he goes to that fake town with the atomic bomb about to blow up, gets into a fridge, and is blown outta there... and SURVIVES!!! Not only that, but he was barely scratched! Come on guys! Give me a break here and don't insult my intelligence. "Okay", I'm thinking to myself, "It's only the beginning of the movie and I'm sure they won't continue this foolishness". Then you have the psycho ants. Okay. But I think the last straw for me was the waterfalls. One, two, three of them. If you are going to have them crash down a waterfall, how about erasing or blotting out somehow the giant rocks jetting out at the bottom that they fell directly into! AND SURVIVED!! This is what happens when you have once great directors thinking they can throw tons of money at a movie and make it good without putting in some good content. Sad... very sad.

Yeah the movie was entertaining but I was thinking WTF almost all the way through it and I knew there'd be a corny wedding at the end.
At the moment I'm thinking "criminals are HOT" aka Megan Fox - she gave me eye-gasms lol.

Wish I had a "do what I want and get away with it badge" and a couple of hours with Megan <3
Zodiac was the shittest movie I've seen in a long time.

Impressive ending indeed, even Stephen King liked it better than the ending he wrote himself. In the beginning I was like "omg, tentacles... this is gonna suck" but I really liked the movie actually, it was pretty dark.
And I just loved the new Rambo movie, everybody is always nagging about Stallone getting too old but the movie blew me away I like action movies and I'm glad Stallone isn't retiring yet because the new generation of action heroes just isn't that good imo.

Except his dad is already dead in the new movie, along with almost all the other recurring characters from the other Indy movies. The Indy franchise didn't age well imo, it would have been viewed much better had this one actually came out in the early 90s.
Random thought from watching Rambo 4(which also applies to Indy 4) - Studios should leave trilogies alone. Just look at the tragedy that came from making Star Wars even one episode longer. Won't they ever learn.
Random thought from watching The Incredible Hulk(not to be confused with the junk that was The Hulk) - They're pushing the Avengers movie too much. Its still 3 years away and god forbid something happens(akin to Ledger) between then and now with whoever's casted as the mains(as Avengers will have a very large cast). They really need to ease up advertising it in the movies leading up to Avengers(such as Capt. America, Thor and Ant-Man).

If I hear one more f*cking person say "I kinda liked Movie X, but it was too unrealistic" I may have to gouge their eyes out with a 14 inch steel spike. F*CKING CHRIST PEOPLE! SOME PEOPLE F*CKING WATCH MOVIES BECAUSE THEY AREN'T F*CKING BOUND BY REALITY!
Whoever said Zodiac was bad probably should commit suicide immediately. That movie was fantastic.
I work at a theater, so I pretty much have seen every movie released in the past 2 years, and I wish I had time to comment on them all. Gonna touch on some stuff I skimmed over in here:
In Bruges: Great movie, not-so-great PR. Definitely deserving of some Oscar nods, but probably won't.
300: Most overrated movie of all time. Crappy CG action + tearing apart the story from the graphic novel + bad acting + THIS IS SPARTA! = Box office gold/screaming 14 year olds all over my intertubez?
Forbidden Kingdom: Not really all that bad. I'm not a weeaboo like half of you seem to be, so I'm not familiar with Jet Li and Jackie Chan's entire filmography or ancient Chinese/Japanese/Wapanese lore, so I can't really comment there. Solid acting, not too shabby writing, awesome kung fu fight scenes. I really can't complain, I'd say 7/10 stars from me.
Other stuff:
Charlie Wilson's War: Most underrated movie in history, this was the 3rd best movie (imho) of 2007, and it was generally overlooked.
There Will Be Blood: Got f*cking raped at the Oscars. Best picture by a mile. No Country was great, don't get me wrong, but TWBB was so much better, especially considering No Country's ending.
Meet The Spartans: Worst movie ever made. I've seen comedies where I never laughed once, but... if I hadn't gotten in free, I would have walked out. This was worse than every Larry The Cable Guy movie ever made combined. I can't say enough about how bad this movie was.
To everyone saying to leave old trilogies alone, the new Rambo (the worst possible title to pick. Seriously, shoulda called it First Blood Part IV) was good imo. Rounded out Rambo's story nicely, but at the same time allowed him to continue being the world's greatest badass. Indy 4 was pretty good, to me anyway. Not as good as Lost Ark or Last Crusade, about on par with Temple of Doom.
My top 5 movies of all time:
1. Shawshank Redemption
2. The Godfather
3. Saving Private Ryan
4. LotR: Return of the King
5. Tommy Boy

I agree completely. God forbid, if something happens to R. Downey Jr... with his incessant drug habits, I don't think it's that much of a stretch. Seeing as The Avengers is slated for July 2011, it's a bit early to start getting Marvel nerds (such as myself) all excitable. Iron Man 2 is scheduled for June 2010 I believe, Thor a bit after that, then Captain America June 2011. It's still a long ways off people.

There Will Be Blood was above good, but not entertaining. from my point of view, it has good acting, cinematography, casting, adaptation of the story but one thing bugs me, its reminds me too much of Gangs of New York. However overall a story well told.
No Country for Old Men was shocking. shocking that the guy had the most ugly hairstyle i've ever seen in my life. and shocking that his weapon of choice is i don't even know what its call. But the let down is, seeing that its a Cohen brothers movie, I thought they could have a better script then that, in their other movie, usually the main character had no choice, or no control over the situation, but in No Country, you just want to kill the main character (Llewelyn Moss). What stupid person does that? Just tell me, you find a bag full of money, you'd run, and you run real fast, especially under the circumstances that he found the money. Gosh. and he had to go through all that stupid things just doesn't make sense.

Kanyatta... loved about everything you said in this post---> http://guildwarsguru.com/forum/showp...3&postcount=29
particularly the 'unrealistic' bit. I love films from 'Latin' directors because so often the line between the fantastical and real is a wafer thin permeable membrane. However, it's okay for people to want realism in their filmed entertainment... after all, documentaries need love too. Of your five all time favs, I have to say Shawshank Redemption is a must see.

I thought Pan's Labyrinth was Guillermo del Toro's best so far.

I didn't like him much until he filled the plastic bottle with water at the kitchen sink... then I liked that compassion had surfaced in him even though it took several hours. But that's what the Coen Bros wanted... to make him likable.

Yeah... the water was for the guy in the truck who was still alive and asked for agua. When Moss finally gave up and let his conscience win and got out of bed... he filled the bottle up at the sink and then left. Also the interchange between him and his wife before bed... telling her if she kept talking he'd have to screw her... was a sweet way for him to let her consent... or not.
And funny you should mention Javier Bardem, I'm planning on watching The Sea Inside tomorrow... it's one of the steaming movies on Netflix. Taking you up on your suggestion, I've just added Before Night Falls to my queue as well.

I saw The Darjeeling Limited, about a week a go. One of the most enjoyable films I've seen in a long time. Acting was great, story was good, the black humour was well delivered as well.
Saw American Gangster and Sweeney Todd a few days a go; American Gangster was good, Sweeney Todd was so-so (thought there was way too much singing even for a musical).
Speaking of Zodiac, really enjoyed that although thought it was a little slow in places, but can forgive that due to some of brilliant acting in it.

I agree with everyone about The Day the Earth Stood Still, a true classic and one I hope they don't F up with the freaking remake. The other classic I love and has also been remade, is Journey to the Center of the Earth.
Other's I liked:
Shawshank
T2 (I don't care, I loved it)
Arthur (one of the funniest movies ever made)
There are more I can't think of and others I can think of but you lot are too young to know what I'm talking about.

oh god like that article states i can totally see them screwing it up as they did in War of the Worlds.
the beauty of movies like "The Day..." is that its interest lies not within the effects but in its message, delivery and historical context.
at least thats my take on it :s.
T2 is a great movie its just a shame that they decided that continuing the franchise was better than retaining the storyline.
speaking of T2, i saw THX1138 the other day (i know i know id never gotten round to it) and was blown away. Plot apart etc one thing that struck me was this.
T2 T-1000
THX1138 motorbike chase scene
THX1138 detention scene
poster art.
Tribute? Id like to think it is...
And while we are on the subject (lol i could go on and on about things like this) has anyone seen Dante 01 not for everyone but i was gripped. The final scene though...man 2001 in your face or what.
yeah the ending of that movie kinda pissed me off, ill have to watch it again...maybe it grows on you.

When I saw 'King Arthur' (the modern one with Clive Owen and Kiera Knightly) I seriously felt like they'd found the real Arthur's grave, disinterred him, threw his bones into a muddy cess pool, stomped all over them, re-buried them, set his grave on fire, and then pissed on the flames to put them out.
That is seriously what the film did to the whole arthurian legend. DESTROYED IT.
